Head Chef

Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire

Responsibilities:

  • To have total accountability for the day to day running of the kitchen service
  • To achieve food budget cost controls, ensuring minimum wastage
  • To participate in the HACCP procedure according to the company’s Food Safety Management
  • Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
  • Liaising with purchasing companies for food orders
  • Ensure consistency for every event every day by completing daily reports for quality control
  • Managing the staff rota and holiday requests
  • Coordinate with Front of House management team
  • Supporting the Venue Manager/Operations Manager
  • Working alongside other HOD and our property manager

Key Skills:

  • Proven working experience as senior sous chef or head chef (2 years+)
  • Excellent record of kitchen management
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to cope under pressure, in a calm and efficient manner to set deadlines
  • Previous experience demonstrating good management and effective co-ordination of a kitchen team
  • Health and safety & food hygiene certificates
  • Professional qualification (City & Guilds diploma in professional cookery/ BTEC HND in professional cookery/ A foundation degree in culinary arts)
